Thank you Ashley Kate & Andy for letting me work so closely with you on such a blessed day!
It’s not often you stumble across an idea that is so breathtaking that it makes your heart beat faster. Well today, I happened upon a lovely website called Velvet Raptor and it was a delight to the eyes … and I am sure the touch. You can almost feel the album in your hands can’t you? I just had to share the lush beauty of these lovely items with brides and mothers who have a heart for heirloom quality products.
Blessings for a beautiful day! ~ Donia

I have a simple black T-shirt dress that I usually wear with leggings or tights, and every time I wear that outfit, people tell me how nice I look or comment on how dressed up I am. It’s a testament to the power of a dress because — let’s be honest — that get-up is basically a giant T-shirt and skinny sweatpants. But the great thing about a dress is that, in many ways, it’s as easy as jeans. Step in. Zip up. Done. Yet you look amazing and feminine and like you put in extra effort when, really, it probably took less time than wriggling into a pair of pants, and you didn’t even have to pick out a top.
The moral of the story? Put on a dress! Even if you’re already fond of dresses, what better time than Valentine’s Day to step up your dress? Maybe your soulmate is planning a date that would put any romantic comedy to shame, and you want to wear something extra special. Perhaps you and your girlfriends are going to paint the town red, and you want to feel extra fab. Either way, dress it up!
Twirl Boutique in Lexington is the perfect place to find your Valentine’s dress. Owner Ty Slone McBrayer was searching for a career she could love and would enjoy every day when she came across the Twirl website in January 2009. Realizing Lexington needed a place where brides and their best friends would enjoy the experience of choosing their special dresses, she opened the doors to Twirl in November 2009. Ty has been in love with her job ever since.
Speaking of love, when asked about her Valentine’s Day traditions, Ty’s assistant manager, Amanda Caldwell, told us she is starting a new tradition this year. She’ll be spending Valentine’s Day with all the single ladies (great, now Beyoncé is in my head) doing all the things they love: playing laser tag, ice skating, eating chocolate fondue, and catching a chick flick. She usually spends Valentine’s evening with her girlfriends and says, “I’m so lucky to be surrounded by strong, amazing women!”
Amanda sent over Twirl’s top three picks for dresses that would be perfect for your Valentine’s date/outing/shindig. Here’s what she had to say about each dress:
PINK. In my book, the color pink is tied only with robins egg blue as THE best color in the world.
It has always been the epitome of February to me. You see, in my family there are 3 generations of daughters born in February. I tease my seven-year-old, telling her that she must keep up the tradition when she starts her family one day. For that reason and because our birthdays are all so close to Valentines Day, the month and the color have a very personal connection for me.
Pink, the iconic color for anything girl. It’s feminine, sweet, innocent, romantic, cheerful, warm. It’s a blush, a sunrise, it’s tiny fingers wrapped around yours.
For this reason I dedicate all my invitation posts this month to February’s signature color… PINK!
~ I BELIEVE IN PINK. ~
I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner.
I believe in kissing, kissing a lot.
I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong.
I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls.
I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.
