Pub Wed — It

As some of you know I work full-time as the Creative Director for several publications and I moonlight as a stationery designer. I couldn’t have picked a better career for myself. I L-O-V-E what I do. Both full-time and with my invitation company, The Blu Sash.

Over the last two years I have been laying out magazines chronicling our family life in the hope of having a keepsake my children will treasure. While working on this project, it dawned on me that this could be an amazing wedding piece for a bride!

When I looking back, I realized that my own wedding program I designed was basically a mini-magazine. I had wanted my guests to be entertained while waiting for the wedding to begin, so I filled the pages with photos of our parents and grandparents on their wedding days, complete with dates and how many years they had been married. There was a history of the quaint Swedish church we getting married in, details about the bridal party and the hymn to be sung during the ceremony.

This led me to the idea that wedding programs could be mini-magazines. Save-the-dates could be the story of how the two you met and how he proposed or a way to show off the amazing photos from your engagement shoot. For fun and casual weddings, you could send out a magazine invite detailing your story and providing, schedules, accommodation info and things to do when your guests arrived. For out-of-town guests, it could be a wedding weekend guide for your welcome bags complete with the weekends events, wedding party bios, must-see-sites, local restaurants, maps and other scrumptious details to show guests your gratitude and that southern hospitality.

There are so many possibilities! I can’t wait to see where this leads. I hope you’ll spread the word and join me!

Be my guest and take a peak:
